The UK Office of Fair Trading (UK Competition Authority) announced today that it has decided to clear the acquisition of VLM Airlines, a former subsidiary of the Dutch company Panta Holdings B.V. by the Air France KLM group.

VLM Airlines is a regional carrier that caters mainly to business travelers. The airline currently operates a fleet made up of Fokker 50s, primarily to and from its hub at London City Airport.

The clearance by the OFT opens the ways for a close cooperation between VLM Airlines and regional carrier CityJet, a subsidiary of Air France, already operating out of London City Airport.
