UNWTO, Korea Team up on Asia Tourism Development

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Republic of Korea are sponsoring a series of tourism projects in the least developed countries within Asia and the Pacific. Francesco Frangialli, UNWTO secretary-general, and Kim Myung Gon, Korea's tourism minister, signed a memorandum of agreement for the new collaboration. Projects will focus on activities that help share technical tourism knowledge to developing countries within the region through training programs, especially in research, marketing and promotion. While in Korea, Frangialli also met with Korea's president and prime minister focused on solidifying bilateral relations between Korea and the specialized UN agency. Visit [www.world-tourism.org].
