Nelson Arts Festival, through October 24
The Festival offers an exciting and diverse program of arts events and activities. It opens with the Port Nelson Masked Parade and Carnivale and continues over ten days with theatre, dance, comedy, music, literary lunching, sculpture, workshops, openings and closings.
World Rowing Championships, October 31 – November 7
2010 will mark the second time the World Rowing Championships have come to Lake Karapiro and New Zealand in the event’s history. The first time was back in 1978.
7 in 7 Challenge, November 28
Kiwi marathon adventurer Malcolm Law races through some of New Zealand’s Great Walks concentrating on the Southern Lakes District through rough, tough terrain in a test of spirit and endurance. The challenge will also feature athletes running with Law and he is hoping to raise at least NZ$150,000 for the NZ Leukemia & Blood Foundation (LBF). Visit http://7in7.org.nz.
