Danny Gans, a singer, actor, impressionist and Las Vegas Strip icon died suddenly in his sleep Friday at the age of 52.

Officials from Wynn Resorts, which owns Encore, where Gans had performed since February, and The Mirage, where Gans performed for more than eight years, said that Gans was found dead by his wife, Julie, at their home around 3 a.m.

"All of us in The Mirage family are deeply saddened to learn of Danny's passing," Scott Sibella, president of The Mirage, said in a statement released through parent company MGM Mirage Inc. "We all knew of his devotion to his family and our hearts and prayers are with his wife and children."

"All of us ... are devastated at the loss of our brilliant, talented and loving friend," said Steve Wynn, chief executive of Wynn Resorts.
