Virgin Vacations Offers Italy Rail Vacation

romeVirgin Vacations is offering a one-week rail vacation to Italy, priced from $469 per person for 6-nights, land only; or from $1319 for 8 days total including airfare from New York

Depending on departure date, prices range up to $599 per person land only, and $1,599 with air fare from New York. Available through March 19, the 8-day independent package includes two nights accommodations with breakfast in Rome, Florence and Venice, plus reserved-seat standard rail travel between cities.

Featured hotels are all three star properties, with the option to upgrade hotel categories and rail passes, beginning at $70 per person. A series of optional  sightseeing tours and activities beginning at $26 for an excursion to the Venice islands, provides travelers with the flexibility to design their own vacation.  

Hotels are all centrally located, and travel time between cities is two hours or less, affording travelers an opportunity to make the most of their time, Virgin Vacations says. 

Single supplement starts at $150. Add-on air from Los Angeles begins at $210, depending on departure date. Prices are per person, based on double occupancy, Virgin Vacations says.

Other travel options to Italy announced by Virgin Vacation includes:

Valentine’s Day (February 14) in Rome by selecting Virgin Vacations’ February 12 departure, beginning at $479 land only, $1329 with air fare from New York.  An optional “Illuminated Rome by Night” tour, priced at $53 per person, is also available.

Virgin Vacations’ 8-day rail travel is also available in a reverse itinerary, starting in Venice and ending in Rome, priced from $469 land only, $1,319 with airfare. Also offered: 8 Day Affordable Italy escorted tour, priced from $1,049 land only, $1,959 with airfare and  14-Day Rome with 11-Day Mediterranean & Holy Land Cruise, priced from $649 land only, $1,499 including airfare.

As a member of the U.S. Tour Operators Association, Virgin Vacations protects travelers’ payments up to $1 Million through the USTOA Travelers Assistance Program.
