Waikiki Edition Offers Surf and Spa Boot Camp

The Waikiki Edition, the newest lifestyle hotel in Honolulu, is introducing a fun way to get fit and explore the island of Oahu with its new Surf and Bikini Boot Camp. Customized by a team of pro-surfers, naturalists, yogis and personal trainers – including nutritionist Corey Coopersmith and two-time World Longboard Champion Daize Shayne Goodwin – the first four-day boot camp debuts from January 13 through 16, 2011.

The Waikiki Edition’s Surf and Bikini Boot Camp combines physical activity with immersion in nature, spa therapies and ample free time in the setting of Oahu’s tropical paradise. Held in groups of eight to sixteen guests, the program caters to all ages and is adapted to each individual’s goals and fitness levels. This spirit of authentic mind and body integration infuses Waikiki Edition’s Surf and Bikini Boot Camp four-day, all-inclusive program:

DAY ONE - Yoga at the Sunrise Pool is followed by a hike through a jungle to Maunawili Falls with born-and-raised island guides, with a dip into the falls to cool off. In the afternoon, learn to surf with pro Evan Valiere, followed by an evening spa treatment.

DAY TWO - Start off the day with some cardio to tone the core and backside. Get moving with a run to a nearby lagoon where a stand-up paddle board awaits. Paddle around the Pacific Ocean surrounding Waikiki, and stretch out with a late afternoon yoga class.

DAY THREE - Nothing says “Good Morning!” like the core class: a total body workout. Set off on a hike through the South and East sides of Oahu via Mariners’ Ridge before returning to surf pro Evan Valiere to fine-tune wave-riding skills.

DAY FOUR – Depart on a morning kayak trip to the Mokolua Islands. Island Boy Beau and his crew serve as guides to the East side of Oahu, where guests can snorkel through island reefs and enjoy a healthy lunch. Back at Edition’s private Sunset Beach, a session of yoga strengthens and lengthens those muscles that have been put to good use, followed by a spa treatment.

Each day, executive chef Kaleo Adams prepares delicious, nutritionally balanced, calorie-sensitive meals and snacks rich in macro- and micro-nutrients. A range of spa treatments is included and guests are encouraged to customize their schedules with activities both inside and outside of the hotel in their downtime hours, whether it be shopping, nightlife, enjoying Waikiki Edition’s outdoor movie theater or simply relaxing by the pool.

The Surf and Bikini Boot Camp will be offered on a monthly basis at The Waikiki Edition with the following sessions currently available for booking:

January 13-16
