Westin Prepares to Plant its Flag in India

Starwood Hotels and Resorts will position the Westin brand in India by opening three new resorts there in the next three years, according to a report by the Economic Times. Starwood will manage and operate the hotels under an agreement with Vatika Group. The first is scheduled to open in December in Sohna, according to the Economic Times' report. The second hotel will open subsequently in Gurgaon, and the third will open in 2009 in Bangalore.
