Starwood Hotels & Resorts will build a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region for the year 2010. In the coming year, the company expects to open between 80 and 100 new-build and conversion hotels.
Of the new hotels, 70 percent will open internationally, with the bulk debuting in Asia Pacific. Starwood plans to double its presence in China, upping its numbers to 100 hotels by 2010.
India is also on Starwood's radar. The company plans to increase its portfolio in the country by 60 percent by 2010.
