EVA Air and Asiana Airlines Team Up and Add Services

In response to the growing demand in both travel markets, EVA Air and Asiana Airlines initiated co-shared service between Taipei and Seoul. As of June 1, 2011, the two airlines are providing 16 flights every week, benefiting business and leisure travelers alike.

Last year, these two travel markets illustrated a significant increase over 2009. In 2010, 210,000 Koreans visited Taiwan, growing this market by 29.38. Similarly, the number of Taiwanese travelers visiting Korea grew to 400,000, a 4.5 percent increase over 2009. EVA Air carried more than 160,000 of these travelers between Taipei and Seoul, achieving an average load factor of approximately 85 percent.

Additionally, just in the first quarter of this year, approximately 70,000 travelers came from Korea to Taiwan. As it is evident that the demand for travel in both markets is strong and continuously growing, this collaboration is extremely beneficial for both EVA and Asiana airlines.
