Jet Airways to Launch New York Area-Mumbai Service

As part of its $3.7 billion expansion, India-based Jet Airways on August 5 will inaugurate daily transatlantic service between Newark Liberty International airport in New Jersey and Mumbai--it's first flight in the U.S., with more U.S.-based long-haul routes to follow. Using a Boeing 777-300ER wide-body jet, flights will depart Newark at 8:25 p.m. and arrive in Mumbai International Airport at 11:30 p.m. the following evening. Return flights depart Mumbai at 2:10 a.m. and arrive in Newark at 11:55 a.m. the same day. The flights will make stops in Brussels, Jet Airways' new European hub. In October, Jet Airways also will launch daily service from San Francisco to Shanghai and Mumbai. "Our goal is to be recognized as one of the world's top five airlines by 2010," said Naresh Goyal, founder and chairman of Jet Airways. Visit [www.jetairways.com].
