Only half way though the month and its already been a busy July for JetBlue Airways as the carrier locks down new flights in three Caribbean islands.
Last week, JetBlue announced non-stop service to the Cayman Islands beginning November 15 from New York and Boston.
Just in time for winter travel, the airline will offer three times weekly service to Grand Cayman on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Saturday service from Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS) beginning on November 17.
New York flights will depart at 7 a.m. and arrive in Grand Cayman at 11 a.m. while Boston flights depart at 10:25 a.m. and arrive in Grand Cayman at 2:35 p.m. Return flights leave Grand Cayman at 12 p.m. and arrive in New York at 3:50 p.m. while return flights to Boston leave Grand Cayman at 3:30 p.m. and arrive at 7:25 p.m.
Perhaps JetBlue biggest news, however, came when it announced new flights to Samana, Dominican Republic. After nearly two years of speculation, the up-and-coming Dominican Republic destination of Samana has finally nailed down its first direct flights from the U.S.
JetBlue Airways officially starts flying from John F. Kenned (JFK) International Airport in New York City to Samana on November 14.
The flights will be twice-weekly. Flights leave from JFK at 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday and Saturday and arrive in Samana at 1:05 p.m. Return flights leave at 2 p.m. and arrive in New York at 4:50 p.m.
And Jamaica was also able to get into the mix as JetBlue Airlines recently launched two new daily flights from Fort Lauderdale to Kingston, through December. It resumes daily service from New York (JFK) to Kingston, through September 9, and to Montego Bay, through September 10.
