Star Alliance Gives Gold Status to Most Loyal TAM Airlines Fliers

business travelerTAM Airlines’ red and black frequent flyer card holders are being offered a special promotion which will allow them to maintain their Star Alliance Gold status following the airline’s exit from Star Alliance.

To participate, customers simply select one of the following frequent flyer programs: Aeroplan (Air Canada); Airpoints (Air New Zealand); EuroBonus (Scandinavian Airlines); MileagePlus (United, Copa Airlines); Miles & Smiles (Turkish Airlines); PhoenixMiles (Air China); SA Voyager (South African Airways); ShebaMiles (Ethiopian Airlines); and Victoria (TAP Portugal). Registration links to these programs can be found at www.staralliance.com/en/benefits/earn-and-redeem.

Once customers have received their new frequent flyer program number with the replacement airline program, they can request retention of their Star Alliance Gold status by logging onto www.staralliancegold.staralliance.com and submitting electronic proof of a valid TAM frequent flyer red or black card.

As soon as the status match has been validated, the participating Star Alliance frequent flyer program will then send the customer a new card bearing the Star Alliance Gold status logo.

Customers who--  in addition to holding a TAM red or black card -- already have a frequent flyer account with any of the nine participating Star Alliance member carrier frequent flyer programs, can go directly to www.staralliancegold.staralliance.com and request the status match.

This promotion runs through May 30, 2014, 12 midnight GMT (Greenwich Mean Time or London time) and full terms and conditions can be found at the web site mentioned above.
