G Adventures has named Taylor Hess to the position of Global Purpose Specialist (formerly called Regional Sales Manager). Based in Texas, Hess will be responsible for working with travel agents in the southwest to grow G Adventures’ presence in the U.S. market. His territory includes Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas; as well as Mexico.
While new to the position, Hess is not new to G Adventures. With more than five years experience, he has lived abroad working as an operations specialist and CEO (Chief Experience Officer AKA tour guide) for the tour operator in several regions including Central America, Mexico, Asia, Canada, and Australia. A graduate of Texas State University with a degree in public relations, one of his major accomplishments is the development of a fundraiser for Planeterra, a non-profit established by G Adventures to support and sustain community development through tourism. The fundraiser, called Love in Action, raised $25,000 in funds to support an eye camp in Tibet.
In addition to its Toronto headquarters and Providence, RI office, G Adventures has offices in London, England and Melbourne, Australia. The company also owns and manages 18 ground operations offices worldwide.
Earlier this year, G Adventures announced several new improvements including a new riverboat for Amazon tours and upgrades to its fleet of Galapagos-sailing boats. The operator also kicked off some new group tours for 22 guests or fewer. Last year, we met with G Adventures' team based in Providence, RI, and learned more about Planeterra.
