Grand Canyon Railway Offers Packages and Agent Commissions

Grand Canyon Railway (GCR) offers several vacation options for those traveling to the Grand Canyon and surrounding area with additional agent commissions for accommodations booked outside the park.

Grand Canyon Railway operates roundtrip train rides between the Williams Depot and Grand Canyon National Park as well as a hotel comprised of 287 rooms and an RV park. GCR also offers train and park packages and tours to showcase activities such as helicopter rides, river rafting and Jeep excursions.

Travelers can stay at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, designed to resemble the historic Fray Marcos Hotel and Williams Depot structures that stand nearby. Rates per night are $169 for standard rooms, $189 for deluxe rooms, $219 for suites and $349 for the Rail Baron Suite.

Grand Canyon Railway has three types of RV spaces – pull-through spaces, buddy spaces or back-ins. All spaces are 50-amp and are large enough for big rigs. Each space comes with cable TV, wireless Internet, shower facilities and access to the indoor swimming pool and hot tub at the adjacent Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. Rates at the RV park are $42.

The train trip from Williams to Grand Canyon National Park takes approximately two hours and 15 minutes and runs 65 miles through ponderosa pine forests and vast desert landscapes. The train offers four classes of service – coach, first class, observation dome and luxury parlor.

Rates for train rides are $70 for adults and $40 for children in coach class, $140 for adults and $110 for children in first class, $170 per adult in the observation dome car and $190 per adult in the luxury parlor.

Combination packages range from a one-night package at Grand Canyon Railway Hotel with train travel, breakfast and dinner to a three-night package featuring a combination of accommodations in Williams and inside the park along with train travel, meals and park tours. Rates for these packages range from $369 to $830 per couple. The portions of these packages that are in-park charges such as overnight accommodations at Maswik Lodge and motorcoach tours are not commissionable to travel agents.

All GCR packages feature the option of adding on regional tours that feature pick-up and drop-off service at Grand Canyon Railway Hotel or inside the park. Participants in the tours receive a 50 percent discount on an extra night’s stay at the hotel. The optional tours may be reserved only by calling 1-800-THE-TRAIN.
