Hangzhou, China Debuts New Commercial at BNP Paribas Showdown

One of China's most popular destinations, Hangzhou, was beamed across the globe last week as part of a marketing partnership with the 2014 BNP Paribas Showdown to highlight the city's history, culture and nature.

Travel Agent was on location with a hand-selected batch of travel agents to experience the event. The Hangzhou Tourism Commission broadcasted a 30-second television commercial during the premier broadcast of the event, showing why Hangzhou is one of China's top tourist destinations. (For those not in the know, Hangzhou is just a one-hour trip south of Shanghai.)

The city, which was founded in 300BC, is the former capital of the Chinese Kingdom. It was recently ranked as the country's fifth top city for international travelers, with more than three million visitors in the past year, and tourism up 18.5 percent during the 2014 Chinese New Year holiday.

The BNP Paribas Showdown was held at Madison Square Garden on March 3 and was a rematch between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
