Holland America Line has announced the cancellation of additional port calls in Turkey

The line has cancelled all calls at Istanbul through the remainder of the year, as well as all calls at Kusadasi, Turkey, through the end of August 2016. The Kusadasi cancellations affect the following three departures:

July 23 — 12-day Adriatic Dream aboard Oosterdam
August 4 — 12-day Mediterranean Dream aboard Oosterdam
August 22 — 12-day Mediterranean Empires aboard Eurodam

For cruises departing in September and October 2016 calls at Kusadasi have not been canceled at this time. Holland America said that it continues to monitor the situation and will evaluate the fall Kusadasi calls closer to the scheduled call dates. Should further adjustments to future itineraries be deemed necessary, booked guests and their travel agents will be notified.

The move is the latest in a series of setbacks for Turkey travel following an attempted military coup and a series of terrorist attacks throughout the year. Flights to the country were briefly banned following the coup attempt, and multiple cruise lines cancelled calls to Turkey in response to the situation.
