CLIA Closes Vancouver Registration

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has closed registration for cruise3sixty 2010, June 2-6 in Vancouver, with over 1,400 travel agents registered. CLIA says this marks another sellout for the cruise industry’s largest annual conference and trade show. The response of the agent community is matched by cruise line and supplier participation in the trade show where only a very limited amount of space remains available.

CLIA said it will maintain a waiting list for agents who had not registered by April 13, should cancellations occur.

It is obvious that our travel agent members recognize the vital importance of coming together in this challenging business environment to learn and advance their professional training, network with colleagues and cruise lines, and catch up on the latest developments in cruising,” said Terry L. Dale, CLIA’s president and CEO.

Establishing a cutoff at 1,400 registrations ensured that all participants would get maximum benefit from all aspects of cruise3sixty, according to Bob Sharak, CLIA’s executive vice president.

In 2009, CLIA opened registrations for cruise3sixty 2010 in Vancouver the day the conference closed in Fort Lauderdale and received 500 registrations immediately. Registration for cruise3sixty 2011, April 14-17 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, will open this year on June 6.
