CruiseOne & Cruises, a network that is part of World Travel Holdings, presented a donation check of $20,000 to The Nature Conservancy as part of their annual partnership with a charitable organization in tandem with their National Conference.

The network's October 2010 National Conference aboard Norwegian Epic supported the Gulf Coast oil spill clean-up and culminated in the presentation of the check by Drew Daly, Vice President of Sales Performance for CruiseOne & Cruises Jim McDuffie, Director of Philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy
Inc.

At the network's annual conference, franchise owners, independent contractors, associates and supplier-side senior executives gather for  the educational forum. Following the announcement of the partnership during the first general session of 2010 event, attendees watched a video about protecting and supporting the affected wildlife. Proceeds were raised during the week in a silent auction, including prize donations from attending suppliers, on top of individual donations from attending cruise specialists and corporate executives.

“CruiseOne & Cruises Inc. and The Nature Conservancy have a shared interest in the health and vitality of our marine environment, whether it is for the protection of plants and animals that live there or for us, the people who so richly benefit from our oceans,” said Jim McDuffie, director of philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy. “This contribution of $20,000, which is among the largest we have received in Florida, will help us begin the important work of restoration along the Gulf Coast.”
