ARC Names CEO to Replace Collins

In a surprising move impacting travel agents, the Airlines Reporting Corporation’s (ARC) Board of Directors has selected Michael J. Premo to succeed current president and CEO David R.B. Collins. Premo, who presently serves as ARC’s vice president of marketing, sales and customer care, will assume the CEO position upon Collins' retirement in June 2011. The appointment completes the search initiated last June by ARC's Board after Collins gave one year's notice of his plan to retire.

"I am pleased that the ARC Board has selected Mike who will bring broad experience with both airlines and travel agencies to the position, and who has been a key contributor in our work to continue the evolution of ARC's settlement and data businesses. I look forward to working closely with Mike over the next nine months to ensure a smooth and effective leadership transition,” said Collins.

Premo, who joined ARC in June 2006 after holding leadership positions at Gelco Travel, airline-owned SatoTravel and Navigant International, said, "I'm delighted to accept this challenge and look forward to working with David over the coming months. I appreciate the confidence of the ARC Board of Directors in giving me this outstanding opportunity."

Collins advised that Premo's title and position will remain unchanged for the present time.
