AAA Launches New Leisure Technology

The Automobile Association of America (AAA) has launched an innovative e-mail itinerary, becoming the first in the U.S. leisure travel market to use this technology that helps travel agencies improve customer service and the way they market their products and services.

Called the Itinerary Trip Planner, AAA’s itinerary is actually a new electronic advertising medium. Doing away with the text-based e-itinerary agents traditionally send clients, the technology was developed by truvle Ltd.

Using the new software, agents now produce contemporary e-docs with the AAA logo, agent contact information, targeted ads and links to a full gamut of trip information. Travelers click through links in the Itinerary Trip Planner to get information and make purchases, creating incremental revenue for the AAA club.

The Itinerary Trip Planner links to AAA.com/travel for air, hotel and cruise bookings and more, keeping travelers in the AAA family and continuing to add to club revenue. The Itinerary Trip Planner saves time for travelers by avoiding searches on multiple sites for things to do in their destination. Everything is available fast via links in the web-empowered e-itinerary: entertainment, family attractions, sporting events, tours, nightlife, restaurants, shopping, weather, currency exchange rates, airport facts, sports scores and more. Travelers can make purchases right from the e-itinerary. They also can check in for flights and get SMS alerts from their mobile devices.

The is customized for each travel partner and suitable for travel agencies, tour operators, cruise lines. It works with existing booking software; agents need no additional training.

This new software recently made its debut among travel professionals in Europe, India, and the Middle East. Now it’s available in the U.S.
