Afghanistan Hotel Welcomes First U.S. Tour Group

The Kabul Serena Hotel, located in the center of Kabul, Afghanistan, received its first U.S. tour group since the property reopened last November after an extensive renovation and addition. Deluxe room packages through Dec. 13 start at about $152 per night. The property is managed by Serena Hotels, which seeks to add hotels in areas not populated by other hotel chains. Currently the group operates 22 hotels, inns, resorts, safari lodges and tented camps in Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Pakistan and Tajikistan.
