AMResorts Announces $400 Million Project in the Dominican Republic

AMResorts has essentially taken over the much-talked-about Cap Cana development in the Dominican Republic.

The Caribbean and Mexico hotel company announced a mammoth $400 million, four-resort complex dubbed the “Gems at Cap Cana.”

Comprised of the Zoëtry Gems at Cap Cana, Secrets Gems at Cap Cana, Now Gems at Cap Cana and Now Preferred Gems at Cap Cana, the new development will offer a combined 1,100 suites and create 6,000 new jobs. The all new-build properties are slated to open in late 2012.

Zoëtry Gems at Cap Cana will feature 200 luxurious beachfront suite accommodations; Secrets Gems at Cap Cana will have 350 suites; Now Gems at Cap Cana will also have 350 suites and Now Preferred Gems at Cap Cana will feature 200 suites.

By 2012 AMResorts will have 30 resorts with more than 10,000 rooms, including 10 resorts and 3,300 rooms in the Dominican Republic.
