|AMResorts expands to Central America with new Costa Rica property.|
Travel Agent was on hand Thursday for an AMResorts event in New York, where Senior Sales Director Matthew J. Mullen announced the openings of AMResorts properties in Costa Rica and Cancun and also gave us the scoop on new plans for Panama.
AMResorts, an Apple Leisure Group subsidiary, reached a new milestone with the recent openings of Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica and Zoetry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres Cancun.
The two resort debuts mark the company’s entry into two new destinations: Costa Rica and Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The opening of Dreams Las Mareas also marks the expansion of the Dreams Resorts & Spas brand into Central America for the first time. And the expansion looks like it could head to Panama next. Mullen told Travel Agent the company has plans to open a new Dreams Resort in Panama by 2016.
"We have been looking at Central America for some time now," Mullen told us. "And Costa Rica and Panama were right at the top of our list. These are two hot destinations that are perfect for our brands."
The decision to enter Costa Rica with a family-friendly resort was based on AMResorts’ goal of continuously offering new and exciting vacation destination options. The northern Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, where the resort is located, also goes beyond the typical beachfront resort. Dreams Las Mareas is located within close proximity to a variety of natural and cultural landmarks and guests can explore these places through tours and excursions.
Zoetry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres Cancun is the fourth Zoetry Wellness & Spa Resort, joining award-winning hotels in Los Cabos, Punta Cana and the Riviera Maya. The opening is part of AMResorts’ rapid development, which will bring the company’s portfolio to 37 resorts by the end of 2014.
Overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Zoetry Villa Rolandi features 35 luxuriously appointed oceanfront suites with Jacuzzi terraces.
Zoetry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres is located on a secluded stretch of white sand beach, eight minutes from downtown Isla Mujeres and the main ferry terminal; and a short 30 minutes from Cancun. The destination’s rich marine life and wildlife offer the perfect opportunity for snorkeling and scuba diving; sport fishing; adventure tours and interactive wildlife experiences.
