Ben Lomond Suites Historic Hotel Joins Ascend Collection

The Ascend Collection from Choice Hotels International, Inc. has added its first hotel in Utah: The Ben Lomond Suites Historic Hotel is one of the largest hotels in downtown Ogden, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The property has 99 suites and condos with one or two bedrooms, full living rooms and kitchenettes.

Sporting the Italian Renaissance Revival style popular in the United States during the 1920s, the property's dark wood furnishings complement the marble floors and ornate, vaulted ceilings. Executive suites feature multiple windows, jetted tubs and a wet bar with a mini fridge and microwave, and condos on the 10th and 11th floors, accommodate families with dining areas, full kitchens and a view of the Wasatch Mountains.

The hotel's in-house massage therapist is known for deep tissue, therapeutic and Swedish massages. For functions, we love the 3,450 square-foot Crystal Ballroom, the 1,260 square-foot Ben Lomond Sunlit Room for smaller events and Grandview Party Room, looking out onto Historic 25th Street and the mountains. Around town, Union Station, Ogden Amphitheater, featuring outdoor concerts and festivals, and Peery's Egyptian Theater, the local venue for the Sundance Film Festival, are in walking distance, as are ski resorts, bike trails and Hill Air Force Base.
