CCRA Launches New Better Than Best Hotel Rate Program

Through CCRA Travel Solutions’ new "Better Than Best" program, more than 18,800 participating hotels will offer travel agents and agencies discounts up to 30 percent off their best available rates (BAR) for GDS bookings made through the CCRA rate codes.

"With CCRA's new Better Than Best rate program, travel professionals will now be able to access and book fully commissionable rates that are lower than what their clients are able to find online - at a large selection of hotel properties across the globe," said Mai Meyaart, vice president and Managing Director of CCRA. "With over 18,800 hotels now offering discounts that are below-BAR, the CCRA rate program is set to become every agency’s 'go to' rate code for receiving the most competitive, commissionable hotel prices for their clients."

The Better Than Best rates are fully commissionable to travel agents based on last room availability, and are offered at participating properties that range from economy class to luxury resorts worldwide. For travel agencies to access and book the Better Than Best rates, they must be linked to the CCRA rate code in their respective GDS. Agencies can link to CCRA by clicking on "Get Linked Today" at www.ccra.com/agents/getlinked.php, and completing the form. Linking to CCRA is free. Amadeus, Worldspan and Sabre agencies can access CCRA rates using the rate code "CCR." The rate code for Apollo/Galileo users is "CCRA."

"During some of the leanest times the travel industry has faced, CCRA remained an advocate for professional travel planners," said Dic Marxen, president and CEO of CCRA. "We consistently work with our hotel partners to demonstrate the continued value of travel agents and agencies. Our new Better Than Best Program, with over 18,800 participating hotels, proves these efforts have paid off for our agency partners."

The 18,800 hotels that participate in the Better Than Best Program are also part of the 32,000 hotels worldwide that have chosen to participate in CCRA’s 2011 Negotiated Hotel Rate Program.
