The Cool Pool of the Week: W Fort Lauderdale

WET East is the newly renovated pool at W Fort Lauderdale

Millennials looking for a brand new, sexy, see-through pool should take a dip at the recently renovated W Fort Lauderdale.

There are two pools here, “WET East” and “WET West,” but WET East is the spot we recommend for Millennials. WET East is newly renovated and offers prime rooftop ocean views, day beds, loungers, a full bar and live DJs on the weekends.

Located on the fifth floor, WET East also offers some great ocean views as it overlooks Fort Lauderdale Beach.

WET East is reserved for leisurely bathing and lounging in style, so no rafts or tubes here, but Millennials can catch glimpses of swimmers from below through glass windows in the ceiling of the Living Room lobby and bar, located on the floor below WET East.

The "WET Deck" is a prime spot for many of W Fort Lauderdale’s happenings and events, including full moon glow yoga classes led by local gurus.

This high-energy, rooftop sunbathing area also offers five day beds with bottle service any day of the week. Each day bed reservation includes four bottles of water, a fruit bowl, and a bottle of Prosecco. The cost is $150 per day bed and $250 on holidays and special events.

Opened in 2009, W Fort Lauderdale is fresh off the completion of the first phase of a $55 million full-property renovation. Owned by Related Companies, the full scale renovation touched every corner of the property, including all 517 guest rooms, suites, and residential suites. The final phase to complete the hotel’s new look this fall will include a new ballroom and an oceanfront restaurant from James Beard Award nominee, Stephen Starr.

As W Fort Lauderdale unveils a fresh look and feel, it is also launching a new weekly line-up of nightly pulsating programming from complimentary henna designs to build your own body scrubs, all free of charge.
