I.M. Pei came out of retirement to complete his vision of the Four Seasons Hotel New York, which debuted its two presidential suites in February last year. The $15,000 per-night price tag makes these suites the most expensive in the Big Apple. Designed with a residential feel, each suite has 10-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces to capture impressive views of Central Park and the Hudson River in Suite 5101 and the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty in Suite 5202. With its oversized leather chairs, coffee-colored accents and marble fireplace, Suite 5101 sports a masculine library feel, although you can always tickle the ivories in Suite 5102, which has its own baby grand piano.

If you book this $4,500 per night suite, you'll be resting your head in the same place as France's President Jacques Chirac, who was the first guest in the 7,100-square-foot suite. Traditional components such as antiques, Chinese porcelain and paintings blend with such high-tech touches as plasma TVs and DVD players. In addition to a private elevator, the suite has its own gym with an elliptical cross trainer fitness machine, LCD-display TV, weights and a massage bed for in-suite treatments. Of course, after a workout you'll get to relax in your own whirlpool tub and steam room. The Mandarin Suite at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami, has its own on-call massage therapist and bath butler.
