Grand Hôtel Stockholm to Become an InterContinental

IHG, the owner of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand, has signed an agreement with Grand Hôtel Stockholm to become a franchisee of InterContinental beginning January 1, 2008. The Grand Hôtel Stockholm, which has been a luxury hotel for the past 133 years, has 376 guest rooms and is next to the National Museum and opposite the Royal Palace and Old Town. The announcement of the Grand Hôtel InterContinental Stockholm continues a period of tremendous growth for the InterContinental brand, the company said, which will continue its global expansion throughout 2007, including three new openings in China and the opening of the InterContinental Dubai Festival City.
