Hilton Inn at Penn Starts Renovations

Hilton Inn at Penn earlier this month announced the beginning of a multi-million-dollar renovation project meant to modernize its guestrooms and suites.

The project, undertaken by interior design firm RD Jones & Associates and expected to be finished by March 2011, will update each guest room with sustainable features such as energy-saving technology, WaterSense showerheads and Apple iPads.

“RD Jones & Associates designed a luxurious, inviting and functional space that truly complements the University of Pennsylvania lifestyle,” said Greg Stafford, general manager, Hilton Inn at Penn. “You’ll still find elements of the early Arts & Crafts/Mission design style in our new guest rooms and suites, but with a contemporary twist that combines sustainability with modern-day technology.”

The Philadelphia hotel will blend a modern feel with its "timeless and traditional design aesthetic," according to a release from Hilton. The rooms will receive new desks, chairs, lounges and artwork, while the bathrooms will be redesigned and the hallways will get new carpeting, sconces and wall coverings.

Some of the new features are part of the hotel's effort to reduce its carbon footprint.
