Marking the importance of the Chinese travel market and the one-year anniversary of its global welcome program for Chinese travelers, Hilton Hotels & Resorts has unveiled its limited-edition "Water Dragon" slippers designed for Hilton by fashion designer Vivienne Tam. The signature slippers will be available beginning this month exclusively for guests of Hilton Huanying, the Hilton Worldwide program offering tailored welcome experiences for Chinese travelers at 70 participating hotels in 23 countries.
Travelers can purchase the slippers on www.hiltontohome.com for $28 while supplies last, Hilton says.
Launched August 16, 2011, Hilton Huanying takes its name from the Chinese word for "welcome," and extends experiences with amenities and services tailored to Chinese travelers. The program has grown to 70 participating properties in 23 countries across Hilton Worldwide's portfolio of brands. It encompassing destinations popular among Chinese visitors from San Francisco, New York City and Hawaii to London, Tokyo and Sydney.
Hilton said the growth of this program points to how quickly regions around the world are seeing an increase in arrivals from Chinese visitors. Globally, bookings in the first seven months of the year by guests originating in China increased 129 percent at Hilton Huanying participating hotels over the same period last year.
Hilton HHonors, the guest loyalty program for Hilton Worldwide's ten distinct hotel brands, has seen an increase of enrollment within China by 81 percent this year, which demonstrates growing affinity among Chinese travelers. "Vivienne Tam's East-meets-West signature design philosophy aligns with the authentic and contemporary experiences we share with our guests around the world," said Dave Horton, global head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts.
Hilton and Vivienne Tam are also offering shopping benefits in celebration of the one-year anniversary of Hilton Huanying. Members of Hilton HHonors and the Hilton Hotels & Resorts Facebook, Weibo and Twitter communities can save 20 percent on regular-priced merchandise while browsing Tam's new Fall 2012 collection on www.viviennetam.com. The offer is valid for purchases made August 15 through September 15, 2012 and shipped to U.S. addresses. Hilton reports it is giving away limited supplies of the slippers to travelers engaging with @HiltonHotels on Twitter and the official Hilton Weibo channel. In addition to finding fashion tips from Tam on the Hilton Hotels & Resorts Facebook and Twitter pages, visitors to the lobby of Hilton New York Fashion District can get an exclusive preview of four signature looks from Tam's Fall 2012 collection, in advance of the collection's debut in retail stores. These looks will be on display from August 9 through September 15 at the Manhattan hotel (152 West 26th Street).
