Hyatt Announces New Brand

Global Hyatt Corp. on Thursday announced through the Wall Street Journal that it plans to build an upscale brand of urban hotels called Andaz. In the U.S., properties are planned for New York and Los Angeles, with the first Andaz hotel slated to open this September in London, the WSJ reports. Hyatt told the paper it hopes the brand will be a home away from home for business and leisure customers looking for a hotel with "customized and uncomplicated service" and with a focus on wellness and environmentalism.
