Jumeirah to Build First Luxury Resort in Europe

Jumeirah Group is set to manage its first European resort and spa in Mallorca at Port Soller. The property, scheduled to open in early 2010, will be a five-star luxury resort overlooking the port and the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel will have 120 sea-facing guest rooms and suites, all with a terrace or balcony, in addition to restaurants and bars with al fresco dining options. It also will provide conference and banquet facilities, as well as two swimming pools and a 21,500-square-foot spa and wellness center. "We are delighted to be managing such a prominent new resort," said Gerald Lawless, executive chairman of Jumeirah Group. "The hotel is a very strategic and important addition to our growing portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts worldwide, and we look forward to offering guests and visitors of the hotel our unique 'Stay Different' experience."
