Karisma Hotels & Resorts, the creator of the innovative Gourmet Inclusive concept that has made big waves in the Mexico all-inclusive market, is expanding its horizons with its first move to the Caribbean.
And it won’t be its last.
Travel Agent recently sat down with Mandy Chomat, Karisma’s vice president of sales and marketing, and learned that the new Azul Sensatori Jamaica, which opened on December 21, will not be the only Karisma resort we will see in the Caribbean in the future.
“The primary markets are the markets that everyone is in by now so that would mean expanding in Jamaica as soon as possible; the Dominican Republic is a hot market, and other parts of Mexico would be important for our growth,” he says, “and then you look at other islands that are out there in the Caribbean that have lift from all over the world that make the product feasibly to maintain.”
Azul Sensatori Jamaica
The aforementioned Azul Sensatori Jamaica is the first Azul Hotels & Villas property outside of Mexico and its sixth property overall, following the openings of Azul Villa Esmeralda in 2012 and Azul Fives Hotel in 2010.
Occupying a stretch of Negril’s world-famous Seven Mile Beach with views of the Caribbean Sea, Azul Sensatori Jamaica debuted with 136 ocean-view rooms with chic contemporary design, a variety of six gourmet dining restaurants, bars and lounges, Vassa Spa and Azulitos Play House. In winter 2014, a second phase will increase hotel accommodations to 300 rooms.
Rooms and Suites
The one- and two-bedroom guest accommodations at Azul Sensatori Jamaica include beachfront or ocean-view categories — each of which are available as Swim Up Suites with outdoor beds for lounging.
A multigenerational section features Family Suites with either two double beds or one king-size bed accommodating up to two adults and three children. For larger groups, two-story Family Loft Suites feature a murphy bed, sleeping an additional two children, as well as a king bed and two double beds. Couples can choose to book one of the 108 rooms and suites in the Adults Only section where all accommodations include a king-size bed. This section, which also offers two oceanfront pools with swim up bars that become lounges in the evening, is where the resort’s romantic Honeymoon Suites can be found.

Gourmet Inclusive Service
With its opening, Azul Sensatori Jamaica offers an elevated Gourmet Inclusive vacation experience. The signature Gourmet Inclusive plan includes accommodations as selected, à la carte gourmet meals at all of Azul Sensatori Jamaica’s restaurants, premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, 24-hour room service and a full service concierge.
Azul Sensatori Jamaica features five restaurants, including Palms Restaurant, featuring world cuisine serviced in a lavish ambiance with an open kitchen and interactive cooking stations; Di Romagna Restaurant, an Italian dining concept with an extensive wine list; Ackee Restaurant, offering local and Caribbean specialties with an emphasis on Jamaican flavors; and the oceanfront Garfield Beach House, a seaside restaurant that celebrates Jamaican food, energy, music and beach life.
Azul Sensatori Jamaica features the Azulitos Play House in alliance with Fisher-Price with a complete full-day activity program with supervised activities for ages six months to 12 years.
The Azulitos Play House includes a Fisher-Price Toy Lending Library and play sessions by Fisher-Price, Lego Corner, Doll Corner, Nap Room, video games, play area and My Gym Children’s Fitness Center for kids aged 6-12 years. Also, parents can leave baby gear at home, knowing the resort has everything from cribs, changing tables and monitors to bottle warmers, baby spa robes, strollers and Gourmet Gerber as a part of its Pack & Play and Baby & Toddler Inclusive program.
Additional amenities at Azul Sensatori Hotel include a Zen-inspired Vassa Spa, Sky Massage services, fitness center, wedding packages and meeting spaces.
