Kempinski Opens Nine New Hotels

Kempinski will add nine new properties in China, Africa, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Germany this year. We’ve rounded up the new hotels. Take a look.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski The Pearl Doha (Opened on January 7)

This hotel is located about 1,000 feet off the east coast of Qatar on a 1.5-square-mile artificial island. The hotel has 281 rooms with a large ballroom made for conferences and weddings. This property comes with a private bay with a beach, outdoor pools and yacht moorings. An open-air roof terrace and spa are also on site.

Sunrise Kempinski Hotel, Beijing (Opened February 2)

On Yanqi Lake along the Yanshan mountain range sits this hotel, close to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. Sunrise completes the Kempinski Yanqui Island project, in which Kempinski will manage the Yanqi hotel and 12 other boutique hotels. In total there are 14 restaurants and 14 spas in this project, as well as a private marina.

Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden (Opening May 1)

Located in the Bavarian Alps, the hotel has views of the Watzmann Massif and Salzburg region. This property will be horseshoe-shaped with floor-to-ceiling windows, which allows guests to see the scenery from several angles. The hotel has a relaxed environment with in-room fireplaces and leather accents. For large events there is an open-air area that can hold 4,000 people.

Kempinski Hotel Harbin (Opening May 1)

On the northern banks of the Songhua River this hotel has 350 rooms and suites and eight restaurants and bars. This hotel is a perfect hosting venue with two ballrooms and five function rooms. When visiting make sure to see the Siberian Tiger Park, which is the largest park for these tigers in the wild. The Harbin Taiping International Airport is 25 minutes away.

Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra (Opening in the second quarter of 2015)

This is Kempinski’s first hotel in Ghana, and it is located in the center of the city. It has the largest ballroom in the city and boutiques are spread throughout the property. The spa will be over 30,000 square feet and will be the largest spa in West Africa. The spa will have a yoga studio, hammam and 10 treatment rooms.

Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Cairo (Opening in the second quarter of 2015)

This new property is near the Cairo International Airport. The Excelsior Ballroom will be able to hold 2,300 guests (this makes it the largest ballroom in Egypt). The Royal Maxim Palace also has touches like a private theatre. This will be the second Kempinski property in Cairo — the first was the Kempinski Nile Hotel in Garden City.

Summerland Resort Kempinski Beirut (Opening in the third quarter of 2015)

This property is placed on the Lebanese coastline, next to Beirut. The Rafic Hariri International Airport is near the hotel. Local dishes will be served at the two restaurants. Hotel guests can relax on the private beach and enjoy water skiing, swimming, sailing and diving.

Phoenix Hotel Dalian - Managed by Kempinski (Opening in the third quarter of 2015)

In a new sports complex on the edge of Dalian city, this property will have 427 rooms and suites. The sports complex surrounding the hotel has a 40,000-person stadium and an arena with 18,000 seats.

Kempinski Al Othman Hotel - Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia (Opening in the fourth quarter of 2015)

Look for the two Presidential Suites and the Royal Suite when this property opens. There will also be 57 suites, 20 apartments (with hotel service) and additional guestrooms. This hotel is in the business center of the city and a 20-minute drive to Bahrain. The King Fahd International Airport is a 45-minute drive away.
