Kimpton Mason & Rook Hotel Celebrates Opening in Washington, D.C.

 

Mason & RookKimpton Mason & Rook Hotel celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 28, making it the only hotel to be located on the 14th Street corridor in downtown Washington, D.C. 

District officials, guests, partners and several Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants executives attended the event, and later invited guests inside the hotel for first-look tours and a reception. The ceremony included remarks from General Manager Donte Johnson and Nick Gregory, senior vice president, hotel operations, of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. 

Additionally, to honor National Military Appreciation Month in May, a bow tie-inspired ribbon was used for the ceremony, signifying the start of a campaign and partnership with veteran-owned men’s neckwear line Bull + Moose.

Throughout the evening, attendees sampled light refreshments and bites at the culinary-focused cocktail bar, Radiator, led by Executive Chef Jonathan Dearden. Guests also viewed the new Exchange Ballroom, toured several guest rooms, including the Premier Spa Suites, as well as Mason & Rook’s rooftop pool and lounge, set to open this summer. Entertainment during the event was provided by DJ Neville C, Neal Becton of Som Records

The property’s opening also marked the launch of the hotel’s locally-inspired guest programming including a partnership with American luxury lifestyle brand Shinola, who designed custom Mason & Rook notebooks and monogrammed them for attendees at the event. Additional Mason & Rook programming includes a Made at Mason event series with local tastemakers, on-call weekend Bar Cart and “Game On” Night with general manager, Donte Johnson.
