Kor Hotel Group has acquired the Villa del Sol resort, located just outside the fishing village of Zihuatanejo along the shores of Zihuatanejo Bay and four miles south of Ixtapa. The resort includes 35 guest rooms and 35 suites, which are housed in two-story, adobe-inspired casitas. Kor Hotel Group's immediate plans include the conversion of the property's spa into a world-class spa with expanded facilities and menu of services. This is Kor's fourth venture in Mexico and COO of the Kor Group Jeffrey Smith says the acquisition of Villa del Sol allows the company to extend their presence in Mexico to the regions around Ixtapa on Mexico's Pacific edge.
