Langham Buys Landmark Southern California Hotel

Langham Hotels International has secured its first property on the West Coast with the purchase of The Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena, CA, which will be re-branded January 8 as The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa, Pasadena. Langham Hotels International will invest $25 million in upgrading the hotel, which has been a Pasadena landmark since 1907. The 380-room hotel is nine miles north of downtown Los Angeles and is the only AAA five-diamond hotel in Pasadena. It has more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including three ballrooms, 15 meeting rooms and three boardrooms

Strategically, The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa, Pasadena signals the company's plan for long-term U.S. investment and expansion. "This latest acquisition represents a tangible development for Langham in the North American market, as we are now represented on both coasts," says Dr. KS Lo, chairman of Langham Hotels International.
