Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho Scheduled to Open in July

Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has announced it will debut The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho in July. The property will be the brand’s first hotel in Tokyo.

The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho will be located in the center of Tokyo’s Kioicho neighborhood near the city's myriad attractions, including Shimizudani Park and Benkei Canal. Guests will also have access to the extensive metro network offered from the nearby Akasaka Mitsuke Station, which connects to shopping and entertainment districts including Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya.

The hotel will be housed in a mixed-use development which will comprise retail, offices and residences. Situated between the 30th and 36th floors of the tower, it will have 250 guestrooms and 11 suites. The 35th floor will also have a signature bar with two-story, floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Additionally, there will be roughly 3,000 square feet of state-of-the-art function and meeting space, a large indoor pool, fitness center, spa, business center and club lounge. 

Dining options include four unique restaurants and bars, and guests will also have access to additional dining options within Tokyo Garden Terrace.

Once opened, The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioichio will mark Starwood’s fourth hotel in Tokyo, and The Luxury Collection’s second property in Japan, following the opening of Suiran in Kyoto in April 2015.

Sofitel Kunming Debuts in Southwest China

Mary Winston Nicklin recently reported that the Sofitel Kunming officially opened its doors in Southwest China.

Located in the capital city of China’s Yunnan province, the hotel is recognized as "the only international luxury hotel in Kunming city center.” The property, which debuted in December 2015, occupies the 27th-52nd floors of a skyscraper in the Central Business district with 400 guestrooms, including 42 suites.

Facilities include the So SPA by L’Occitane, as well as an expansive meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom that can accommodate 800. For dining, there are three restaurants and two bars serving a variety of cuisines such as Chinese, French and international dishes. Kwee Zeen restaurant offers 360-degree views and live cooking stations, while Le Chinois Chinese Restaurant focuses on authentic Yunnan, Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine.

Booking tip: There’s currently a special opening offer with rates of 999 yuan/night (about $150), double occupancy with breakfast, for reservations through mid-April 2016.

Renovations Completed at Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem

Jerusalem's Inbal Hotel recently announced the completion of a major renovation of its rooms, suites and public spaces. 

As recently reported by Natalie Maneval, after more than two years of renovations, Inbal has a new look, with the top three floors now home to the top suites and the Executive Lounge, an adults only area that affords views of Jerusalem and serves complimentary snacks, a complete breakfast and a complimentary full bar from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Guests staying in the Laromme Executive Suites and Insuites have access to the space. 

For families, the Old City Suite is ideal, with three bedrooms, three baths, a living room and sitting area. 

Good to know: All guestrooms come with views of either the Old City or the surrounding manicured neighborhood.

The Presidential Suite comes with three rooms, and can connect with two other executive suites, if needed. The space affords views of the Old City and Hinom Valley from its private Grand Balcony, while inside there is an extra-large bedroom that can be outfitted with a king bed or two twin beds, as well as a study and living/dining room. The suite’s bathroom has a marble bath with a sauna, deluxe bathtub, Jacuzzi and shower. Other touches include car service from the airport and access to the spa and pool, after hours.

Inbal Hotel’s pool is an outdoor, semi-Olympic pool and is heated year-round and covered in the winter, and there is also a toddler pool for younger guests. 

For dining options, Sofia Restaurant serves traditional Italian dishes, while The Inbal Grill (open May through October) offers a selection of prime cuts in the outdoor courtyard, with live musical entertainment every night. 

Note: Shabbat will be celebrated with a range of traditional, local and modern menu items. There is also a special package available for Passover, which includes stays from four to 10 nights. Breakfast will be offered daily as well as holiday and Shabbat meals. As an added touch, private Seders are available either in-room or in a private dining room. If booked before February 10, guests will save 10 percent.

W Aspen Set to Open in 2017

The W Aspen and The Sky Residences at W Aspen have announced that they will be open in time for the 2017 winter ski season.

W Aspen, formerly the Sky Hotel, will be located at the base of Aspen Mountain. Designed by Nemaworkshop in partnership with Rowland+Broughton Architecture and W’s in-house design team, the property will have 88 guestrooms, including six suites and 11 W-branded fractional residences. An oversized split level Living Room, which is the W brand's take on the hotel lobby, will serve cocktails and cuisine. Additionally, the hotel will have a 1,600-square-foot outdoor patio and a 12,000-square-foot rooftop bar and pool overlooking Aspen Mountain. 

The hotel will also have a full service ski shop, which will provide guests with equipment rentals and storage capabilities, as well as a 1,100-square-foot FIT gym facility and more than 1,600 square feet of event and meeting space.

The Highly Anticipated W Retreat and Spa Goa Set to Open in June

W Retreat & Spa Goa has announced that it will officially open its doors on June 1. 

Mary Winston Nicklin recently reported that W Retreat & Spa Goa will have 105 guest rooms and suites situated on the sands of Vagator Beach. According to The Telegraph, guests will be able to “hike up Vagator’s black rocks to Chapora Fort, soak in Vagator’s freshwater springs, or drop into some Goan trance raves.”

W’s resort concept combines contemporary design and high-energy nightlife inspired by local settings. There are currently W Retreats in the Maldives, Koh Samui, Bali-Seminyak, and Vieques Island

New Paradise Valley Resort and Residences From Ritz-Carlton 

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Five Star Development Resort Communities have signed an agreement for the development of a new resort and residences in Paradise Valley near Scottsdale, Arizona

The community of Paradise Valley spreads from north of the Phoenix Mountains to Cave Creek & Carefree and the McDowell Mountains to the east in greater metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona.  

The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley Resort will be situated on 20 acres and comprise 200 casita-style guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of function space. The property will also have a large destination spa with a health and wellness program, as well as an indoor and outdoor desert-inspired treatment menu. Additionally, a citrus orchard and garden will grow seasonal produce which will be harvested for the on-site restaurants.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Paradise Valley will be developed by Five Star Development Resort Communities in several phases adjacent to the hotel, and will provide residence owners access to services at the hotel including a concierge, hotel guest accommodations and amenities, in-residence dining and housekeeping. The residences will have 45-single-family homes and 94 villas.

Construction is expected to begin in July, and the resort is slated to open in late 2018.
