There is still no word as to when the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London will reopen after a fire that broke out at the just-renovated hotel on June 6 resulted in its closure. Around 4 p.m. local time, a "huge blaze" was seen on the roof of the building, with local authorities arriving just after. The hotel has reported that all guests and staff escaped safely, which included 36 guests and 250 employees. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and no time frame has been announced as to when the hotel might reopen.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London says that all hotel guests were relocated at other hotels in the vicinity. If future guests are unable to find alternate accommodations, they will be refunded entirely by the Mandarin Oriental and no cancellation fee will be charged. If you have already paid for your booking and need to cancel, contact the hotel's finance department at +44 (0) 20 7201 3643 or email [email protected].

While the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is unable to assist future guests in finding alternate accommodations, it reports that the Four Seasons Park Lane, The Berkeley, Claridges, The Connaught and Bulgari London all have availability. It is also unable to help with restaurant reservations and the like, it says.
