Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas Names “Pepper” the Robot New Ambassador

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas has announced its humanoid robot, Pepper, will be its next Technical Ambassador. The new technology will be based in the Sky Lobby located on the 23rd floor, greeting guests and complementing hotel services.

The four-foot tall robot is completely integrated into the hotel team and acts as a colleague with lifelike movements and gestures. Pepper provides personalized communication by discerning guests’ gender, approximating age and mood, and detecting facial, body, and voice cues.

Mandarin Oriental’s trademark robot can provide answers to property-specific questions, give directions, tell stories, dance, and even pose for a selfie. With the implementation of Pepper, the hotel has added another layer of hospitality and fast service to its experience, the hotel said.

“I am delighted to welcome Pepper to the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas team. Luxury is all about choice. Pepper will provide our guests with the option to receive hotel assistance and information in an exciting and innovative way,” said General Manager, Donald Bowman.

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is part of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s collection of deluxe properties around the world. The group now operates 30 properties in 15 countries, providing a unique blend of 21st century luxury and oriental charm to all of its resorts and residences.

Mandarin’s Las Vegas location is placed directly on Las Vegas Blvd. in the heart of the city. It is also just a 5-minute walk from the new entertainment complex, T-Mobile Arena, and just a 10-minute drive from McCarran International Airport.
