Marriott has unveiled plans to convert the lobbies and public spaces in Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Renaissance Hotels & Resorts to a new great room layout. The great room will be sectioned off into zones allowing guests to work, meet, dine and access the most up-to-date technology. The Welcome zones will offer areas to check-in, access area information and buy retail products. Individual zones will be created for guests to snack, read or access the Internet while the Social zone will allow business travelers to conduct business in an intimate setting. In addition, the Business zone will feature a multi-purpose boardroom for small groups, a revamped business center and areas for conversations. The company has not announced locations that will feature the concept, nor has a rollout date been determined.
