Mauna Kea’s Popular Copper Bar Nabs Award for Best Bar

Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s popular Copper Bar has been named the recipient of Andrew Harper’s Grand Award for Best Bar in the 2017 Hideaway Report.

The bar was recently revitalized during the hotel’s multi-million dollar renovation and the results are not going unnoticed.

Harper, editor-in-chief of Hideaway Report, recognizes particularly memorable hotels and resorts by presenting them with a Grand Award. During his 2016 travels, he returned to Copper Bar at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on Hawaii Island and described his experience as “one of those truly blissful moments that alone make the flight to Hawaii worthwhile.”

Harper made special note of the bar’s enhanced design and atmosphere, as well as the "Mauna Kea Mule" cocktail, which is 100 percent island made with house made ginger beer, Pau Vodka, fresh lime, soda and a dash of bitters; and, naturally, served in a custom copper mug.
