Motel 6, Studio 6 Install Wi-Fi Nationwide

Guests staying at a Motel 6 or Studio 6 property in the U.S. will only have to pay $2.99 for 24-hours worth of Wi-Fi access, Accor North America, which operates the two brands, announced Wednesday. Wi-Fi installation has been completed at over 800 Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties.

"Motel 6 is always striving to meet the needs of our customers, and we realize that Internet access is a necessity for many people in both leisure and business travel and because we want to maintain the integrity of our positioning as the lowest price of any national chain, and deliver what our guests want, we will charge $2.99 per 24-hour period, separate from the room price.” said Jim Amorosia, president and chief operating officer for Motel 6, Studio 6 and Accor North America.

Accor says Motel 6 is able to offer "the lowest rate of any national chain" because it is absent of unnecessary amenities—Wi-Fi, now, not being one.
