Movenpick Hotels to Open Three Properties in Thailand

BangkokOver the next three years, Swiss-based company Movenpick Hotels & Resorts will open properties in Thailand's Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui regions. Following the 2006 opening of the Movenpick Resort and Spa Karon Beach Phuket, its first Thai hotel, the company has signed a management agreement to operate the Movenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai, the Movenpick Resort & Spa Mae Nam Beach Koh Samui and the Movenpick Hotel & Residences Bangkok, toward five by 2014.

Near Chiang Mai International Airport, The Movenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai will renovate an existing hotel, set to open mid-2011. Scheduled for the end of 2011, the property's features include a Thai restaurant and signature spa.

In Phayathai, near the Victory Monument area, the Movenpick Hotel & Residences Bangkok will have 266 rooms and suites, as well as 100 residences. With a modern feel and spacious digs, the property also features a collection of loft-style guest rooms. Slated for 2014, the hotel will offer easy access to the major downtown shopping outlets as well as the sky train and Airport Express link.
