Thompson Hotels has announced the opening of the Thompson Seattle, the brand’s first hotel in the Pacific Northwest

The boutique downtown Seattle hotel is next to the Pike Place Market and has a culinary partnership with Huxley Wallace Collective restaurant group. In addition to 158 mid-century modern guest rooms, including eight corner studies and two suites, the hotel also has a signature restaurant, a rooftop bar and lounge with views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain Range, and more than 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

Seattle firm Olson Kundig conceived the architectural design for the hotel, which incorporates a glass lantern structure with two adjoining solid façades aimed at integrating with the surrounding urban landscape. Design firm Studio Munge, in collaboration with Jensen Fey, applied a minimalist approach to the interiors, emphasizing exposed steel and concrete, as well as a blend of modern and vintage furniture and fixtures of reclaimed woods.

Guestrooms have specially made 400-thread-count SFERRA linens, complimentary Wi-Fi access, a 42-inch Samsung Smart TV with movie library, and marble bathroom with a rain shower and D.S. & Durga bath amenities.

The signature restaurant and rooftop cocktail lounge serve Pacific Northwestern cuisine and drinks, and will be operated by Huxley Wallace Collective under the direction of Executive Chef Josh Henderson. Scout, the day-to-night signature restaurant, highlights locally-sourced items such as shellfish from the Puget Sound, wild mushrooms foraged from the Cascade Mountains, and grass-fed beef from the eastern farmlands. Scout will have a Chef’s Counter serving fresh, unusual courses. The Nest, the rooftop bar and lounge, serves handcrafted cocktails and shareable plates. Billed as the highest hotel rooftop bar and lounge in Seattle, The Nest will offer neat pours and seasonal batched and barrel-aged cocktails, as well as a custom “ice program” designed to showcase the flavor notes of each cocktail.

Event locations Grasshopper and Dreamliner can be combined to host a reception for up to 150 people, while The Nest rooftop can accommodate up to 250 people.

In honor of Thompson Seattle’s grand opening, the property has created opening package “Countdown to a Downtown Evolution” for guests to explore the new hotel and downtown Seattle. Valid for stays through December 30 and based on double occupancy, guests can experience discounted rates and the following inclusions if booked by June 30:
