NEW YORK CITY-Travel Agent met with Loews Hotels officials during their visit to Manhattan, where they announced that the company will open its first property in Atlanta, Loews Atlanta Hotel, in April 2010, and discussed a recent $100 million investment in renovations for various properties. Loews Atlanta Hotel will feature 414 guest rooms, a fitness center and spa services, a restaurant, lobby bar and more than 24,000 square feet of meeting space. The property will be the centerpiece of 12th & Midtown, a $500 million luxury, mixed-use development spanning four city blocks in Midtown Atlanta. The location will provide 750,000 square feet of office space, over 60,000 square feet of retail space and 60 luxury residences. The Atlanta debut of Loews Hotels comes on the heels of the company's widely publicized expansion program, which aims to grow the chain by 10 to 15 hotels in the next five years.
