Palace Resorts recently celebrated the grand opening of Moon Palace Jamaica Grande, the brand’s first property outside of Mexico

On December 2, Palace Resorts welcomed local media, dignitaries and government officials including Portia Simpson Miller, prime minister of Jamaica, to experience the newly enhanced property.

Additional respected dignitaries in attendance at the inaugural celebration included Kenneth Wykeham McNeil, minister of tourism of Jamaica, Cecilia Jaber, ambassador of Mexico and Anthony Hylton, Jamaica’s minister of industry, investment and commerce.

Invited attendees had the opportunity to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony held in Moon Palace Jamaica Grande’s expansive lobby, followed by exclusive property tours and speeches from Palace Resorts’ Executive Vice President Gibran Chapur and President Jose Chapur, among others. The evening concluded with an impressive dining experience prepared by Executive Chef Dennis McIntosh and live entertainment.

Moon Palace Jamaica Grande features an array of luxurious amenities including Jamaica’s largest spa, Awe Spa, a FlowRider Double-Wave simulator, the Noir nightclub and much more.

The resort features signature designs by international magnate and Palace Resorts’ exclusive designer, Francois Frossard. Designed with the goal of leaving an inimitable first impression, guests are greeted by impressive floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views upon entering the main lobby. Moon Palace Jamaica Grande features elegant décor and design both respective and reflective of its Jamaican setting throughout the entire property.

Moon Palace Jamaica Grande began welcoming guests in July following the property’s soft opening. The resort is strategically situated on the north coast of Jamaica, accessible from the Montego Bay airport.

Following a multimillion dollar transformation of what was formerly the iconic Sunset Jamaica Grande, Moon Palace Jamaica Grande boasts more than 700 guest rooms and suites with oceanfront views of the Caribbean Sea. The hotel features 17-acres of ivory sand on the longest stretch of private beach in Ocho Rios.
