Peninsula to Open in Paris in 2012

Peninsula Hotels will enter Paris, thanks to a deal brokered between The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited and Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company.

The hotel will be housed on Avenue Kleber, off the Arc de Triomphe, in a building that was most recently used as the Centre International de Conferences. It once served as the Majestic Hotel, which was one of the city’s top grand establishments. The expected opening date is mid 2012.

Another luxury brand, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, previously announced it will open a hotel in Paris to manage Le Royal Monceau hotel, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment. Shangri-La Hotels also has a hotel under construction in the City of Light.
