Station Casinos opened the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa this week, the first billion-dollar resort to open off the Las Vegas Strip. Located 10 miles from the Strip in Summerlin, Red Rock opened with 414 rooms and plans to add 850 rooms by December. Additional facilities at this modern, luxury resort include a 35,000-square-foot spa, three-acre pool and beach area, casino, Cherry nightclub (owned by Rande Gerber), nine restaurants and a 16-screen theater. Station Casinos opened sister property Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas' Henderson neighborhood in 2001.
