"Sandals Style" Magazine Returns

Sandals Resorts International inked an agreement with the Trinidad and Tobago-based Toute Bagai Publishing Company (TBP) to publish a third edition of the "Sandals Style" magazine, which was launched in 2010 by TBP.

TBP Managing Director Neysha Soodeen said the contract extension is "a significant vote of confidence, endorsing her company's continuous efforts in production excellence. Sandals expects nothing but perfection from their suppliers, so we were happy when Sandals expressed an interest for us to continue to produce and publish their official, in-room magazine."

Sandals Resorts' Director of Public Relations Debbie-Ann White explained that the high cost of producing the over-sized coffee table magazine is paying off.

"It is a collector's item, unlike other in-room tourist magazines which are used for quick information and then discarded," she said in a written release. "Our guests have really responded well to this new Sandals product, raving about its quality and content which provides an authentic look at Caribbean life."

While the launch of any publication in the middle of a recession is considered risky business, advertisers have been very receptive to the magazine with most pages already fully subscribed.

"Sandals Style" magazine, a complimentary feature of every room and suite at Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts in five Caribbean islands, reaches more than one million visitors to the region and is also mailed directly to Sandals Select members ahead of their visits to the Caribbean.

The first publication (150,000 copies) was a major success, earning substantial recognition at the Sappi International Printers competition, while the second, which highlighted Sandals' 30th anniversary, was even better than the first, according to the publishers.

Soodeen anticipates the third publication will be the largest of its kind to be produced in the Caribbean: "It truly is an amazing opportunity for the Caribbean to market what we have through one publication," she noted.

Sandals Resorts International is the parent company of Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts.
